On March 3, 2006, I signed with Five Star, an imprint of Gale/Cengage Learning, to publish A Real Basket Case the first book in the Claire Hanover gift basket designer mystery series, in March, 2007. The large-print edition was released by Wheeler Publishing on January 22, 2008. On December 29, 2007, I signed my second contract with Five Star, for the sequel, To Hell in a Handbasket, which was released in May, 2009. The large-print edition will be released by Kennebec Large Print in October, 2010. On August 27, 2008, I signed a contract with Virtual Tales to publish my science fiction novella, The Epsilon Eridani Alternative, in eBook, eSerial, and paperback, which was released in November, 2009.


On August 25, 2009, I signed a two-book contract with Midnight Ink for Deadly Currents, the first in the Rocky Mountain Adventures mystery series, and a sequel. Deadly Currents will be released in March 2011 and the sequel in early 2012. Then on April 26, 2010, I signed another contract with Midnight Ink for the paperback and electronic rights of the first two books in my gift basket designer mystery series and a new third book in the series. A Real Basket Case will be re-released in fall, 2011, To Hell in a Handbasket in fall 2012, and the new third book will be released in fall, 2013.

Beth Groundwater has published eight short stories, and her first mystery novel, A Real Basket Case, ISBN 13: 9781594145476 or ISBN 10: 1594145474, was released by Five Star, an imprint of Gale/Cengage Learning, in March, 2007. The book garnered good reviews from Booklist, Kirkus Reviews, and other national reviewers and was nominated for the 2007 “Best First Novel” Agatha Award. The sequel, To Hell in a Handbasket, was released by Five Star in May, 2009 (ISBN 13: 9781594147593 or ISBN 10: 1594147590), also to good reviews from Kirkus Reviews, Gumshoe Review, and other national publications.


Beth’s science fiction novella, The Epsilon Eridani Alternative, was released by Virtual Tales in eBook (ISBN 13: 9781935460190 or ISBN 10: 1935460196) and paperback (ISBN 13: 9781935460138 or ISBN 10: 1935460137) in December, 2009. The first in her new Rocky Mountain Adventures series, Deadly Currents, will be released in March, 2011. Beth was an avid "river rat" in the 1980s, running whitewater rivers in the eastern US and reacquainted herself with that subculture while researching her new series.
